Welcome to our school!
The public school system has been an important part of the Lake Mills, Scarville, and Joice communities from their beginnings. The Lake Mills Community School is one campus that houses the elementary, middle, and high school. The district prides itself in providing students with exciting learning opportunities that expand their connection to others locally and across the nation. Students at Lake Mills Community School benefit from small class sizes, one-to-one access to technology, and faculty who are focused on growth. We are so excited to offer our communities a school where our collective effort focuses on teaching and learning for all.

🌸 Spreading Springtime Smiles! 🌸
The 3rd graders in Mrs. Kingston’s class have been busy little bees! 🐝 They spent a day last week crafting and filling over 100 May baskets to brighten up our community.

🎓 Senior Spotlight: Avah Klebsch 🎓
“Don’t waste your time—you are better than mediocre.” ✨
Whether you know her as Avah, Ave, or Klapper, one thing is clear: she is anything but mediocre! From the choir stage to the classroom, Avah has spent her four years at Lake Mills diving into everything from Student Council to Speech. 🎤🎭
Favorite Classes: Choir and Ag Business.
The Vibe: Cruising in her 2019 Jeep Compass to AXIS, listening to “Angels Like You” by Miley Cyrus, or watching Hamilton. (Just don't ask her to watch an animated movie! 🚫🎬)
Hard Work: On top of her many activities, Avah serves her community as a 24-hour care provider. 🩺
The Crew: Her siblings Sophia and Gavin, and her three pups: Missy, Daisy, and Rose. 🐾
What’s Next? Avah is headed to NIACC for a STEM meta-major before transferring to Hawkeye Community College to pursue a degree in Dental Hygiene. 🦷🪥

Our Foods 2 students recently put their baking and decorating skills to the ultimate test in the Spring 2026 Cake Competition! From traditional designs to creative masterpieces, these students learned firsthand that making the perfect frosting—especially under a time crunch—is a true kitchen challenge. We are so proud of the hard work and "sweet" results they produced!
A huge thank you to all the staff and students who stopped by to sample and vote. Having our teachers involved makes this such a great experience for the class!
