LMCS Technology Skill Outcomes

(Who is your audience?  What is your purpose?  How will you critically and creatively address your audience/purpose?)

LMCS students will demonstrate proficiency in these technological skills as tools for reaching our outcomes of Lifelong Learning, Effective Communication, Responsible Citizenship, Critical/Creative Thinking, and Healthy Contribution.  The technology will be used in “real-world” integrative ways to improve student achievement in basic skills and content/performance standards.

Achievement of specific outcomes will be measured by teachers in appropriate classes; at times, these instructors will need the assistance of keyboarding instructors and the technology coordinator.

In addition, students will discuss their technology-skill progress with a faculty mentor, then self-assess personal achievement and place this analysis in their individual Talent Development Portfolios.  These portfolios will be used in developing the 12th grade exit presentation for parents/ administrators/teachers/ community members.

Procedure for Reevaluating Technology Skill Outcomes

The one constant in the Information Age is change!  Because of this factor, a representative group of educators will reevaluate these Technology Skill Outcomes and update them at the end of every school year.  This group will be made up of one teacher representative from each grade level, administrative representatives, the curriculum coordinator, and the technology coordinator.

Student and parent input will be gathered as action research to augment the faculty input in making decisions regarding the age-appropriateness of these technology skills.

Examining and implementing latest research on the best practices in integrating technology as a tool for teaching and learning will also be a part of the reevaluation procedure.

Overall, our work surrounding technology as a tool for teaching and learning will stay focused on our LMCS learner-centered principles:

LMCS Mission - “Through our collective efforts, we are committed to eaching and learning for all.”

LMCS Outcomes -
